Project Kikuyu

Project Kikuyu: a journey to play every public golf course in San Diego County this 2024.

Having just played Torrey Pines (south), one of the most famous kikuyu grass golf courses, Project Kikuyu was born. All around San Diego you’ll find the pesky kikuyu rough making it a fitting name for the journey of playing every public course in the county.

The goal behind Project Kikuyu is simple, check the box saying “I’ve played every public track in San Diego County”. Based in north county San Diego I often get stuck playing the same loop of 5-7 courses and know there is more to see in the local golf world.

Between the Project Kikuyu instagram page and this blog page I plan to cover all 50ish courses. The idea is not to drive or take business from these courses, but instead highlight each course through images and excerpts from each round.
